Kids....

So that I can keep up with my friends Amy and Melissa I thought I leave a couple notes of kids "sayings". :)

Kalei:
The other day we were outside and Kalei, who is just learning how to jump rope, kept saying "watch Mom"; "did you see that Mom?" ....Of course, as I'm busy with the other kids my comment is "yeah, I saw good job". She waits for a few minutes and then says "Mom, can you see out the back of your head?". I chuckled to myself and then said. "Yep...I can".

Hannah:
After zipping her coat and getting her ready for school one day she says "Now, I'm snug as a bug in a rug". This is coming from being tucked into bed everynight snug as a bug in a rug.

Jackson:
Us: "Jackson, what is the puppy's name?" Jackson: "Ruff, ruff".
Jackson: "goggy....where my goggy go?"

Introducing Toby.....the newest member of our family!

I've been telling Dan for awhile that I wanted a pet. I think the kids need a pet. It took a few weeks of "whining" but finally we have a pet. I was determined to get some kind of pet for the kids. Internet research told me that a guinea pig was a better small pet for kids than a hamster so I told Dan we were getting a guinea pig. Dan's answer "We are not getting a RAT, if we have to have a pet we can get a dog". So......welcome home Toby! He was in the paper as a Cockapoo. I called and talked to the owner and asked him if he would be a dog I could run a couple miles a day with and he assured me he would be ok. We later found out that he is Cockapoo-Shitzu.....not so sure he will be my running companion! :)

Smart little guy!

Valentine Be Mine

Valentine evening was an exciting one in our house. (Thanks Jeff and Kristen...I stole the idea from you!) Our friends Jeff and Kristen have a candlelight dinner with their kids every year on Valentines Day so I decided this year that we should try that with our family. The girls were thrilled! Candles at the table! WOW! We didn't get all fancy we just ordered a pizza(a heart shaped one) and ate on paper plates. However, we did have wine and sparkling cider for the kids. We let the girls drink the cider out of some smaller wine glasses that I found in the cupboard. Dinner was great and the kids were just in heaven with all the lights out and only the candles giving us light. Jackson just kept looking up at the light and saying "night night". I'm sure he was thinking to himself "what the heck is going on....you people are crazy!" We were all enjoying the dinner and "polite conversation" until suddenly Hannah starts crying........she had tried to bite the wine glass! Yeah......note to self....don't let kids use real glass wine glasses! Next year we'll be using plastic. Luckily all she did was get a little scratch on her lip. I was more concerned that she had swallowed some glass...so after putting the glass back together I figured that it had just broke right into the glass. We finished off dessert with the kid's favorite sugar cookies. It was a really great dinner and we'll probably try it again next year! And actually we had to have dinner by candlelight again tonight it was such a hit. Thanks Jeff and Kristen!

This is Jackson putting on all the tears because he wanted more cookies!

CHEERS!

Jackson

This little guy is so much fun right now! He found these glasses in our bedroom one day and thought he was pretty funny wearing them around. His favorite sentence to say right now is "I fall down" or "I got it". I love this stage of his life!

January

One reason I don't update very often. I can never get the pictures where I want them. So sorry this time the pictures are first.

Jackson was tuckered out after a day of sledding. He fell asleep sitting in the sled.

Jackson LOVES Hannah, she can get him to do anything...including carrying a purse. He calls Hannah "Hannah" and Kalei "sissy".

In order to keep up with the Jones's........I'm leaving new post. :)

New Year 2010
January was a pretty uneventful month for us, staying close to home and just relaxing. We took the girls skiing for the second time this winter. We went to a local ski hill call Discovery Mountain. They have a really great kids program and after our day of skiing in Idaho we were willing to pay the extra money to have someone else teach them. Apparently it was a very busy day as we almost were not able to get them into the class. The instructors found a place for the girls so we bundle them up and got them all ready and sent them on their way. We took a couple runs for ourself and then stopped to watch the girls for a few......after we watched the instructor point Hannah down the hill and let her go...and go...and go right into the line of kids waiting at the "magic carpet"...we decided it was best if we DIDN'T watch. So off we went to enjoy our day. As Dan and the girls and I were off skiing and enjoying ourself Jackson was stuck at home with a babysitter. This would be the first time he was ever left alone without his sisters with a sitter. He didn't let me out of his sight the rest of the weekend.

I ran a 5k with some friends on January 30th. It was a bit chilly but always a good time. I'm looking forward to the next one. I begin training in March to run the Missoula Marathon in July, I'll be doing the half. I don't know what I was thinking when I agreed to do this with some friends. So if anyone would like to take a vacation come to Missoula July 11th and cheer me on! I might need it!

We finally got some snow this past weekend. The kind of snow that makes snowman. The kids were thrilled so we built the snowman they have been asking for since the snow we had in October. They even got to go sledding.
Oh yeah, I've also started "couponing". It's pretty crazy how much money you can save. I've been keeping up with this website http://www.thekrazycouponlady.com/. You could really go crazy following all her deals and stuff....I'm not that into it. But I've still gotten some really great deals lately...even on Huggies diapers, and the Costco price for diapers is hard to beat. I did go to Safeway a couple weekends ago and when he totaled my groceries it came to 99.00, I handed him my coupons and it went down to 75.00! WOW I was pretty proud of myself that day. Did you know you could even download coupons to your store cards?

I am a single parent this week, as Dan is traveling for work. This is the third or fourth time I've been a single parent in the last 4 months. I have to give a kudos to all those single parents out there! I do have something to look forward to this week. I get to leave town for a girls weekend on Friday! Yay for me! I can't wait! And thanks to all my gal pals who are making it happen!

Ok...that's all I can come up with to write about. Amy..Melissa....how was that? :) love you guys!
