Silly Girls

Last week the girls wanted to have a camp out on their floor. We got out the sleeping bags and let them have some fun. The deal was they were to be quiet and go to sleep or they would have to go back to their beds.......


After a few minutes I went to check on them and this is what they had done. They were being quiet.....just not sleeping!

5k fun.....

Last weekend Dan and I both ran in a local 5k race for St. Patricks Day. We had originally planned on taking the kids and pushing strollers and making it a fun family day.....however the weather didn't cooperate and we choose not to take the kids. LUCKILY...Grandpa Paul and Grandpa Ann were here to tote the kids to a birthday party where it was nice and warm.

We both did pretty good....well...at least that's what I thought....Dan seems to think he should be running faster.

Dan's time: 22:33( that seems pretty damn fast to me)
Monica's time: 30:03

He says "I ran 7 minutes faster in college". This is when I remind him that was 15-20 years ago! I think he did great and was so proud of him for running in a race with me! I think I got his competitive juices flowing now and hopefully will convince him to do some more!

After the race we enjoyed the Missoula Downtown St. Patricks Day parade. The kids loaded up on lots of candy!

Today Dan went skiing and I ran another 5k with some friends. This time the kids had to come. This is how the morning went:

Jackson screaming because he didn't want to be in the snuggly with the blanket on him. "blanket off....I done!". He eventually fell asleep. Hannah half way through the race crying "I'm cold....i want the other mittens....my feet are cold" I tell her "put the blanket over your legs." She says "It doesn't help". Then throwing a huge fit because she didn't get an orange slice.(at least this was in the car with no witnesses!) :)

Good grief...people probably think I have some pretty whiney kids. Maybe the problem was the late bedtime last night? Oh well....at least they got some fresh air this morning.

Hopefully we'll make it to the park today.

Day 1

Day 1 of my half marathon training. Yep...a half marathon. What the hell was I thinking?

I think it might actually be fun. They started the morning out by cramming us into a room like sardines in a can. Probably about 300 of us. Gave us a little information and then sent us out to run. At the end they handed us our training schedule...wow....now I have to fit running in with work, t-ball, soccer, and Scentsy partys. I think I can.....I think I can...I think I can!

Todays thoughts

My kids love pickles! They would eat a whole jar in one setting if I let them. Isn't it kind of weird for a 1 year old to like pickles? What a weird food for kids to love. I love pickles too so maybe they picked that up from me. It just seems odd to me. :)

I made cookies today during nap time. Why can't I make chocolate chip cookies that are fat and fluffy? Mine ALWAYS turn out FLAT! It makes me so mad!

A day in the life......

All this just because I took a fork away from him because he was STABBING my WALL. He climbed up on the table took the fork back and continued to throw this dramatic fit that lasted about 5 minutes! At one point he looks at the camera and says No-Way, which is his new favorite word. He is our little "Drama Queen".
