Cookies!

I posted a few weeks ago how everytime I made cookies they turned out flat. So my very dear friend Melissa sent me her recipe that she has used for years. I finally got around to making cookies again today. The recipe was a success and I now have made some nice fluffy round cookies! YUM YUM

We are sitting at the table finishing up dinner and Jackson pushes his plate away and says "I'm done". He sits there for a few minutes longer.......grunting and making noises. I knew exactly what he was doing. After a bit he looks at me and says "I done pooping now." Food just about came out of my mouth! Funny kid!

Tasted my first "GU" or "GEL".......yep..DISGUSTING....I could hardly gag it down....will never taste it again. I bought some "chews" to try on the next long run. I will let you know how they taste.
Bought new running shoes with my birthday money. I actually went into a running store and they watched me walk and I came out with a very comfy feeling pair of shoes. Can't wait to try them out this week.

So..the running is going well. I am doing a 10k next weekend so we go down in miles for a couple weeks and then back up. I have a hard time getting motivated to run during the week by myself...especially now that we have t-ball and soccer activities all week. This training has been HUGE commitment. I love love love the group runs, there is something about running with a group of people that really gets you motivated. If I can make it through May I think I will for sure be good to go with the half marathon. Yay Me!

Today Abbey and Hannah were playing, they stopped for a second and Hannah says to Abbey "my heart isn't beeping anymore". CUTE!

On another note. FINALLY.....t-shirt weather!

The sun is shining through the windows, we can play outside without coats, the windows are open....it's great!

What's not so great is that my windows are filthy dirty....WOW.

I just can't muster up enough energy to wash them today....maybe this weekend.

Really they are just gross and I should clean them....UGH.

I need to hire a window washer!

Jackson talk

We have this Tee-pee like tent that a neighbor gave us and since we have had 2 nice days in a row I decided to put it out in the yard for the kids. I get it all set up and Jackson being the ornery brat that he is goes in and then won't let any of his friends come in. So I said "Jackson, you let your friends come in...you need to say Hi Friends, come into my Tee-Pee". So Jackson says "friends come in my pee-pee". LOL

Tonight we had to take a sliver out of Kalei's foot. I am sure that the neighbors thought we were beating her! You would have thought it was the end of the world the way she was screaming. DRAMA QUEEN!!!!

March-April

I've slacked a little on my posts....so this one will be a quick catch up.

The girls had spring break the last week of March. We took the kids to my parents so they could spend spring break with Grandpa and Grandma Knowlton. While in Idaho we had good friends from Boise who were on their way to Couer d'Alene so we convinced them to make a stop in Winchester. We got them a hotel room at the "Mini-Motel". It was definitely mini! We met them at a nice little establishment called Syl's Saloon. We were able to visit a little and catch up on each other's lives. We were also able to do a little people watching... The next morning they came out to the homestead for some home cooked breakfast. It was a great short weekend. Pictures too follow!

While the kids were with Grandpa and Grandma Dan and I took our own little vacation to Las Vegas! We met up with my cousin's and we had such a great time! We relaxed and kind of just hung out. We did make it out to a little place called Red Rock National Conservation. It was a really neat little drive and we even got out and hiked up to a little waterfall. It really wasn't much of a hike but nice to say we kind of got some excercise! We gambled a little and drank a little and laughed a lot! Fun fun weekend!

Kalei has started t-ball and soccer. We've had one t-ball practice and today was our first soccer game! So far she seems to really like them both.....but I think soccer is going to be more fun. She was able to keep right in the pack with the kids and even kicked the ball once! Soccer with 5 year olds is quite entertaining. They don't keep score and the kids kind of all just run in a pack trying to kick the ball. BUT Hey....at least she wasn't picking dandelions....yet!
