The Big "5".

Kalei turned 5 on the 23rd. We celebrated her birthday today with her friend Carli who also turns 5 on July 1st. We have the same group of friends so we combined the birthdays, which was great on the pocket book! It's hard to believe she has been with us for 5 years! It's amazing how they grow and how smart they get. She is really a great kid with a soft heart. We love her so much!(although I could do without all the "why" questions).

Kalei and Carli celebrating "5"!

More camping!

Just some pictures of our last camping excursion to Lee Creek. Great time with friends! It was very wet! Rained all day Friday and Friday night, was cloudy and overcast on Saturday but never warm enough to put shorts on. Saturday night it came down in buckets. We lost our screen tent due to the rain but luckily it was Fathers Day so guess what Dan got for Fathers Day??? It was wet and yucky enough that we were home on Sunday by 10:00am!

Jackson

He's just so darn cute!

Walking in the rain.

This was the "trail" to the Geo-Cache.

Finding the "treasure" Geo-Cache.(most people probably don't take their kids Geo-Cacheing but the kids think it is great! We just tell them we are looking for a treasure!)

Hiking up the pants to cross the creek to the big rock.(see below)

All the kids had to pose for a picture on the same rock in the same position.

Floors.....

This weekend we put laminate flooring in our Kitchen, Dining and down the hall. When we purchased our house it had new carpet, but it was the cheapest carpet you can buy just to be able to sell your house. In the almost 3 years we have been here the stairs had just gotten nasty and the dining area......well...seriously...who puts carpet in the dining area????? YUCK! Anyway, we had been saving up to make some changes and those changes started this weekend. Monday we get new carpet....then I think we are done with house projects for the summer!

Valerie(my cousin) and Chad Carlin came and helped us with our big project. This is Dan and his Dad supervising Chad.

Dan and Robb cutting some boards.....I think Paul used the saw the rest of the day. :) And yes the uniform for the day was cacky shorts and white shirt.

Chad getting the kitchen sub-floor up.

Finished dining area.

Finished hallway.

On Sunday we decided to entertain Paul and Ann by taking them to see some Montana scenery. The idea was to drive up Skalkahoo Pass but by the time we headed up that way the rain was coming down in buckets....so to avoid being washed off a narrow dirt/mud road we decided to go check out Lake Como. Just some more beautiful Montana scenery!

The girls on the beach. It was just a little chilly that day. Kinda reminds you of the Oregon coast!

Dan throwing Hannah in the air. I thought the picture was kind of cool.

Friends, popsicles and boo-boo's.

This weekend we choose to stay home and do some things around the house and well...just be home. Friday Kalei's little friend Carli came and played for the day. The kids had a great time together. I took them to this great park in Florence(I know..... I'm super Mom...ha ha) and then they spent the rest of the day playing in the water. Carli and Kalei especially enjoyed "sun-tanning".

I have gotten myself addicted to these Lime Popsicles made by Dreyer....OH they are so good!!! Jackson was having licks off of one, it was so funny because he would take a lick and then he smacks his lips. I finally caught it on tape.

Jackson received his first facial injury Saturday night. Big Sister Kalei was trying to be helpful and was moving(as in carrying) Jackson to a different room. I think she was actually running or something, she tripped and Jackson smacked his head on a toy and cut his eye right below his eyebrow. We got the bleeding to stop and decided he probably didn't need any stitches. We figured he would pull at a real band-aid so thanks to the suggestion of a friend we found this great stuff called liquid band-aid and put it on his wound. It's a little swollen but hasn't turned black or blue yet.

Sunday because the weather was kinda crappy and because I can only spend so much time in the house on weekends(I'm home all week so on weekends I get a little stir crazy) we decided to go for a drive. We drove up to Lolo Pass to the Visitor Center and drove out on this road called Elk Meadow's road. The visitor center is pretty cool and I would highly recommend stopping there if you ever drive over Lolo Pass when it is open. We were trying to find the Lochsa River from this way in(not on Highway 12). Needless to say we didn't turn on the right road but we still had a great drive and saw some beautiful mountains. The girls loved the waterfalls. We were hoping to see some wildlife...you know like a Moose or something....no such luck. We did finally see two turkeys but that was on Highway 12 on the way home. We do know which road to take on our next tour so maybe we'll find the Lochsa next time. (p.s. Jackson is not in any of these because he is always asleep each time we stop)

We had to stop and through some rocks into this creek. The name of this creek was called the Brushy Fork....isn't that funny!

This last weekend we headed to Hermiston, Oregon to my cousin Devon's wedding. It turned out to be a beautiful wedding. The place they had the wedding was absolutely beautiful. It is always fun to see all the family together . The kids enjoyed playing with cousins and the adults enjoyed a few adult beverages together. I've posted some great pictures from the weekend.

Picture during the reception. Me, Mom(Jackson) Devon, Allie and Barb. Oh and yes we are related to the two dorks in the back.

The kids and I.

Trying to play photographer.

Kalei loves to dance. I think maybe she should be in dance instead of gymnastics.

Just a random video of Jackson crawling in the grass. He must not like the feel of the grass on his legs so he does a bear crawl. It's really funny!

The Bride and our Uncle Ken.

Grandma Judy and the kids.

They found a really beautiful place for the wedding....hard to believe this is in Hermiston, Or.
