Memorial Weekend

This year for Memorial Weekend we went to Idaho for a graduation party and some quality family time. At least we picked a good year not to go camping since it has been raining for the last 5 weeks.....ok maybe not, but that's what it feels like. I understand that winter and spring lasts a long time in Montana....but seriously this is getting a bit depressing. I mean....we haven't even had one shorts weather day! Ok....onto what this post was really supposed to be about.

We left Lolo on Friday and headed to Idaho. It was a nice "rainy" drive. Hannah had been sick with the flu a day or so earlier. She still wasn't feeling 100% so I decided that I would give her some motrin before we left........BIG MISTAKE......she ended up car sick. The first time she told us she was going to be sick and we were able to pull over and let her get out. She said felt a little better after walking around so back in the car we go. Five minutes later......this time....not so much warning. For any of you that have driven Highway 12 over Lolo Pass you know there are not a lot of great places to pull over. Luckily we left town early so we weren't rushed for time. We did manage to still have time to stop at Three Rivers for a "pit stop" and to visit with some friends and then finally on to Grandpa and Grandma's!

Here Uncle Kenny attempts to teach the girls how to dance at the Graduation Party.

Some of the Fam at the party. Aren't we cute!

Devon and I with Graduate Todd. What a handsome guy!

Jackson with his cousin Teegyn.....one day apart and he is still shorter! He is a little shorty!

Saturday morning ride on the 4-wheeler.

The highlight of the weekend for the kids...mostly Jackson was getting to feed the "baby calf" Jackson tells us and anyone who will listen "Grandpa's farm...I got to feed baby cow" . This will be our topic of conversation for a couple weeks now.

Dan and Mom pretending to work.

Painting soon turned into tree trimming.

Hmmm....which one can I get next?

The kids stayed entertained by the tent we put up for them to play in.

The highlight of the trip was seeing "Swiper the Fox" at the Lolo Pass visitors center. I thought it would have been pretty funny to get a video of the kids yelling at the fox "Swiper, no swiping. Swiper, no swiping!" Of course I didn't think that thought until we were all loaded back up into the car.
